Winning Mind Training Ground Fighting Instructor Course

 

   Course Description

 

This three day intensive program is designed to provide law enforcement trainers with principles, concepts, skills and techniques necessary to train their officers in a simple and effective system for winning on and from the ground.  This program will help trainers realize that the ground is simply another place to win a fight.

 

   Course Goals

 

At the end of this program each student will be able to:

1.      Identify reasons why officers go to the ground during a confrontation

2.      Demonstrate the most desirable methods for going to the ground

3.      Demonstrate methods for defeating attempts to take the officer to the ground.

4.      Identify advantages of the back ground fighting position.

5.      Demonstrate strategies for defeating subjects when the officer is on the ground and the subject(s) are still on their feet.

6.      Demonstrate strategies for defeating subjects in the mount position.

7.      Demonstrate strategies for defeating subjects in the guard position.

8.      Demonstrate strategies for defeating subjects when the officer is in the guard position.

9.      Demonstrate strategies for defeating attacks where the officer is face down and the subject is on the officer’s back.

10.  Demonstrate strategies for defeating multiple assailant attacks from the ground.

11. Demonstrate strategies for defeating disarming attempts on the ground.

 

   Course Topics

 

What the system is NOT:

  1.  A martial arts program
  2. A grappling class
  3. A system based on joint locks or submission holds

 What the system IS

  1. A system based on simple concepts of balance, power and mobility any officer can employ from the ground.
  1. A system designed for defeating violent assaults against an officer who is on the ground.
  1. A system that is easy to learn, and easy to teach.
  1. A system that works regardless of whether the subject is still on their feet, or on the ground with the officer.
  1. A system that can be used to defeat multiple assailant confrontations where the officer ends up on the ground.
